As many of you will be aware the Puhoi Sports Club has been lobbying the Council for some time to get our run down Tennis Courts resurfaced with an all-weather surface. We are really pleased to say that this will be going ahead and the Puhoi Sports Club has committed to contributing 25K to the costs of the resurfacing. This is a huge commitment for a small club like ours so we desperately need your help to make this happen.
At the moment there are very few facilities in the village for our young people, with the sports field being pretty much the only resource. With the much needed upgrade to the courts this will enable us to offer year round tennis, netball and winter football training.
Over the next few months we will be running a number of fundraising events. To kick off the fund, we would like to thank our resident tennis experts, Angelique and Ivar de Jong for their significant donation.
Our first actual fundraising event is tied in with me completing a 42km off road run on Saturday November 29th (the Speights West Coaster), billed by the organisers as “possibly NZ’s toughest off road marathon” (to be honest they all say that).
As well as donating to a great cause for our community, you also have an opportunity to win some awesome prizes.
To donate go to http://www.givealittle.co.nz//org/swalters/donate (All money donated goes to the cause).

Could you please ask that if anyone has a black cat with white paws in the Fiddles Hill Road area, to please keep it in at night time if possible.
It has been coming through our cat flap at night, fighting with our kitten, eating its food, and last night ripped open our rubbish bag in the kitchen and left food scraps all over the floor. Its obviously used to dogs, because we have one, and that doesnt deter it from coming near the house.
I know a solution to this would be to lock our cat flap, but thats not fair on our cat. Thanks for your help.
